Meet Sarah

(she/her)

I am Licensed Independent Social Worker of Clinical Practice in South Carolina, and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Illinois. I have my PMH-C (Perinatal Mental Health Certification) from Postpartum Support International and extensive training in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders as well as in Perinatal Loss, stillbirth, and infant death.

Originally from Greenville, SC, I am a proud alumna of The South Carolina Governor's School for Science and Mathematics. I earned my BS in Psychology from Clemson University in 2011 and my Master’s in Social Work from the University of South Carolina in 2013. But my journey into this work became even more personal when I became a stepmother to two wonderful boys and a biological parent to a third. Through my own experiences, I recognized the urgent need for compassionate mental health care within the birthing and postpartum community. This realization led me to found Todd Counseling in 2018, with the goal of supporting parents and parents-to-be through the complexities of their journeys.

No matter how you became a parent, whether you’re expecting, struggling to grow your family, or adjusting to a new reality, I see you. The expectations and emotions that come with these experiences can be overwhelming—but you don’t have to face them alone.

My work with individuals with Borderline Personality Disorder stems from both my professional training and personal experiences. Having loved ones impacted by BPD, I deeply understand the challenges—but also the incredible strengths—of those who live with it. I wholeheartedly believe in the power of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and other evidence-based approaches to help individuals with BPD build fulfilling, meaningful lives.

I tailor my therapeutic approach to each client’s unique needs, primarily drawing from Mindfulness-Based Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), and Narrative Therapy. My goal is to help you process your life story, reduce distress, and embrace the best version of yourself.

You deserve support, and I’m here to help.
